Which one of the following statement refers to contouring control
Answer: A
Contouring control is described by This system provides feed control in three axis.
A contouring (continuous path) CNC system controls the feed along several axes at the same time, with the axes interpolated together so that the tool follows a curve, an angle or a 3D surface. Milling of profiles and dies needs this simultaneous, multi-axis feed control.
A system with only one feed axis at a time is a straight-cut system, which can mill only along lines parallel to an axis. A system with no controlled feed axis is a point-to-point (positioning) system, which only moves the tool rapidly to the next position, as in drilling. Merely providing motion in two axes is true of positioning systems too, so it does not define contouring.
