Multiplicity is the same as what concept for an ERD?

Multiplicity in UML states how many instances of one class may be associated with an instance of another, which is exactly what cardinality expresses on an entity-relationship diagram. The notation differs - 0..1, 1..*, 3..5 against the crow’s foot - but the concept is the same.
