What will be the output of the program?
import java.util.*;
public class Listing05
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
Map<String, Integer> m = new HashMap<String, Integer>();
System.out.println(
m.put("a", 1) + " " + m.put("a", 2) + " " + m.size());
}
}
Answer: A
put returns the PREVIOUS value for the key, or null when there was none. The first call returns null, the second returns the 1 it replaced, and the map still holds a single entry because the key was reused. Putting a duplicate key overwrites rather than adding.
