A pendulum oscillates 30 times in 3 seconds. Choose the correct statement from among the following :
Answer: B
The correct statement is that its time period is 0.1 s and frequency is 10 Hz.
\[ \begin{aligned} T &= \frac{3\ \text{s}}{30} = 0.1\ \text{s} \\ f &= \frac{30}{3\ \text{s}} = 10\ \text{Hz} \end{aligned} \]
The time period is the time for one oscillation and the frequency is the number of oscillations per second, so \(f = 1/T\). The options with 10 s and 0.3 Hz invert or confuse the two quantities, and 0.3 s with 0.3 Hz cannot both be right, since their product must be 1.
