Dispersion of pollution from stack is a function of...................
Answer: A
Dispersion from a stack depends on stability, wind and stack height.
In the Gaussian plume model, ground-level concentration depends on the emission rate, the wind speed, the dispersion coefficients set by atmospheric stability, and the effective stack height (physical height plus plume rise). A taller stack releases pollutants higher, giving the plume more distance to spread before it reaches the ground.
Stack diameter affects exit velocity and so plume rise slightly, but it is not one of the main controls. Pollution control equipment changes how much is emitted, not how it disperses, and 'stack attachment' is not a dispersion parameter.
