Atactic polypropylene is a useful commodity plastic.
Answer: A
The random arrangement of methyl groups prevents crystallisation, so atactic material is a soft tacky solid. Only the isotactic form made with a stereospecific catalyst has useful properties. Tacticity decides whether the polymer crystallises.
