According to the Census of 2011, what is the rank of Madhya Pradesh in the country in terms of population?

Madhya Pradesh ranked sixth in population in the 2011 Census.
With about 7.26 crore people, Madhya Pradesh came after Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and the then undivided Andhra Pradesh (8.46 crore). By area it is the second-largest State.
'Fifth' is the trap, because Madhya Pradesh moves up to fifth if Andhra Pradesh is split into Telangana and the residual State; but in the 2011 Census as conducted it was sixth. Fourth and seventh do not fit either way.
