Dry point rural settlement are commonly found in .................. region.
Answer: D
Dry point settlements are commonly found in riverine regions.
A dry point site is a patch of higher ground that stays dry in an area otherwise prone to flooding or waterlogging: a river terrace, a levee, a mound in a marsh or a delta. In flood plains and deltas, villages cluster on such points to escape the floods.
The opposite type, the wet point settlement, grows around a reliable water source in a dry area, such as a spring or oasis in a desert. Plateaus and mountains are not generally flood-prone, so they do not produce dry point settlements.
