Which of the following is not an Inter-process-communication mechanism in Linux ?
Answer: B
The one that is not an IPC mechanism is Redirection.
Redirection (for example ls \(\gt\) out.txt) is a feature of the shell: it connects a process's standard input or output to a file before the program starts. It does not let two running processes exchange data.
Pipes carry a byte stream from one process to another, sockets let processes communicate on the same machine or across a network, and signals deliver asynchronous notifications such as SIGTERM to a process. All three are inter-process communication mechanisms in Linux.
