A tradesperson marks his imports 10% above the CP. If he allows a discount of \(3\frac{1}{4}\%\), then his gain percent is:
Answer: B
The gain is 6.425 per cent. Let the cost price be 100. The marked price is 110. A discount of 3 1/4 per cent leaves 96.75 per cent of it: \[ SP = 110 \times 0.9675 = 106.425 \] so the gain is 6.425 on 100, which is 6.425 per cent.
5.425, 7.425 and 8.425 per cent would need a selling price different from 106.425.
