Consider the following statements about space time in a reactor network.
1. Space times add for reactors in series.
2. Conversions do not add for reactors in series.
3. Space times add for reactors in parallel.
Answer: A
The first two are correct. The third is wrong, since parallel reactors share the feed and the system space time is the total volume over the total flow rather than the sum of the individual ones. Series and parallel behave quite differently here.
