Which literary device has been used in the expression : 'to tame the poison' ?
Answer: A
The device is a Metaphor.
To tame literally means to make a wild animal gentle and obedient. Speaking of 'taming' the scorpion's poison treats the poison as if it were a wild creature to be brought under control, an implied comparison without 'like' or 'as', which is a metaphor.
A simile would need 'like' or 'as'. Anaphora is the repetition of a word or phrase at the start of successive lines or clauses, and an oxymoron joins two contradictory words, such as 'bitter sweet'. Neither occurs in 'to tame the poison'.
