Which of the following statements is True/False ?
A. After the Kalinga war, Ashoka became a pacifist.
B. Ashoka established his sway over the whole of India.
Answer: C
The answer is A is true, but B is false.
A is true: after Kalinga, stricken with remorse, Ashoka decided 'to abandon warfare' and turned to conquests in other fields, which is what a pacifist does. B is false: the passage says the whole of India acknowledged his sway 'except for the southern tip', which he refrained from taking.
So both-true and both-false are wrong, and the option that reverses the two is wrong as well.
