(B) Harmonious negotiation with other people is required for self-control.
Answer: C
Only (A) is correct.
(A) is the opening sentence: lack of self-control 'has brought grief to more people than any other shortcoming'.
(B) reverses the passage. It says success needs harmonious negotiation and that this 'requires self-control in abundance'. Self-control is the requirement for negotiation, not the other way round.
