Which of the following statements is incorrect with regard to the passage ?

The incorrect statement is that India's increasing ties with the USA have been welcomed by China.
The passage says the opposite: China viewed India's pursuit of deeper military engagement with the U.S. and Japan 'as a serious challenge to its future security', and India's tilt towards the U.S. was one of the pressure points both sides exploited.
The remaining statements are supported: there were plenty of tensions, including the Doklam crisis; India's military engagement with China's rivals affected China's stand; and Modi and Xi were persuaded that their policies needed 'some kind of a course correction', so a reassessment is possible.
