The paragraph runs 2 – 5 – 3 – 1 – 4:
- 2 states the premise: children have always known there is conflict in the adult world.
- 5 adds supporting authority with further.
- 3 introduces the make-believe world imposed by modern education, with however.
- 1 says what that world does - it refers to the make-believe world in 3.
- 4 draws the conclusion with we may therefore conclude.
It at the start of 1 has no antecedent unless 3 comes immediately before, and therefore marks 4 as the last sentence.
