The paragraph runs 2 – 6 – 5 – 3 – 1 – 4:
- 2 opens the scene - hurrying home from school.
- 6 gives the accident: he was thrown and lost consciousness.
- 5 brings the bystanders trying to revive him.
- 3 follows with since they did not succeed.
- 1 gives the taxi and the hospital.
- 4 closes with Venu waking among doctors and nurses.
Since they did not succeed in 3 refers to the attempt in 5, and waking up can only come last.
