The National Green Hydrogen Mission, approved in January 2023, is a clean-energy programme. It aims to make India a global hub for the production, use and export of green hydrogen and its derivatives, to make green hydrogen competitive with fossil-fuel based alternatives in sectors such as refining and fertilisers, and to make India self-reliant through clean energy, contributing to the global energy transition.
Green hydrogen is hydrogen produced by splitting water with renewable electricity. A hydrogen weapon is a thermonuclear bomb, which has nothing to do with the Mission, so this is plainly the odd one out.
