Select the grammatically correct sentence:
1. I am an optimist and therefore I generally differ with you.
2. I am an optimist and therefore I generally differ from you.
3. I am an optimist and therefore I generally differ in you.
4. I am an optimist and therefore I generally differ you.
Answer: A
It is sentence 1.
Differ with a person means to disagree with them, which is what the sentence means. Differ from means to be unlike, so sentence 2 would say the speaker is unlike you rather than in disagreement.
