Select the grammatically correct sentence:
1. You can meet my father only when he goes to prison.
2. You can meet my father only when he goes into prison.
3. You can meet my father only when he goes in prison.
4. You can meet my father only when he goes to the prison.
Answer: D
It is sentence 4.
Go to prison without the article means to be imprisoned; go to the prison means to visit the building. Since the sentence is about meeting someone there, the article is needed - the same distinction as go to school and go to the school.
