Which one of the following Five Year Plans is called as "Gadgil Yojana" ?
Answer: C
The Gadgil Yojana is the Third Five Year Plan.
The Third Plan (1961-66) is often called the Gadgil Yojana after D.R. Gadgil, the economist who shaped its approach of self-reliant growth and agricultural development. Gadgil was later Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission and gave his name to the Gadgil formula for central assistance to states.
The First Plan was based on the Harrod-Domar model, and the Second on the Mahalanobis model, so they carry other names.
