Family Planning Programme has been started at National level since the year .......
Answer: A
The Family Planning Programme has been run at the national level since 1952.
India became the first country in the world to launch a national family planning programme, in 1952, as part of the First Five Year Plan. It began with clinics and the rhythm method, moved to the extension approach in the 1960s, and was renamed the Family Welfare Programme in 1977.
1949 predates the First Plan, and 1956 and 1960 fall in the Second Plan, when the programme was already running and being expanded, so they are not its starting year.
