What is the term used to describe the type of soils that are carried by running water and deposited from suspension?
Answer: A
Soils carried by running water (rivers and streams) and deposited from suspension, as the water slows down on flood plains and deltas, are called alluvial deposits. Marine deposits are laid down in the sea, lacustrine deposits settle in lakes, and aeolian deposits are carried and deposited by wind, such as dunes and loess. Only the first is the result of the transport by running water.
