A Parsi spouse can file a petition of divorce in the following court :
Answer: A
The petition lies in the Parsi District Matrimonial Court.
The Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act, 1936 sets up special Parsi Matrimonial Courts: a Parsi Chief Matrimonial Court in each presidency town and Parsi District Matrimonial Courts elsewhere. Suits for divorce and other matrimonial relief are heard there by a judge aided by delegates, Parsi laymen who act much like a jury on questions of fact.
Ordinary civil courts and magistrates have no jurisdiction over Parsi divorce, and a Parsi priest solemnises marriages but cannot dissolve them.
