The role of the delegates in the Parsi matrimonial disputes is to :
Answer: B
The keyed role of the delegates is to assist the courts in adjudication.
Under the Parsi Marriage and Divorce Act, 1936, matrimonial suits are tried by special Parsi matrimonial courts in which the judge sits with delegates, Parsis chosen from a panel. The Act provides that questions of law and procedure are decided by the presiding judge, while the decision on facts is that of the majority of the delegates, much like a jury. Their function is thus to take part in, and assist, the adjudication of the case.
They do not decide the applications on their own, since the judge decides the law, nor is their role limited to verifying documents or advising the parties.
