The World Chess Championship of November 2013 was held in Chennai, where the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen beat the defending champion Viswanathan Anand to win the title at the age of 22. Anand had been world champion since 2007, and Carlsen won the match 6.5 to 3.5, with three wins and seven draws.
Carlsen is not from Britain, Sweden or Belgium.
