The aim of technique training in the third phase of skill acquisition is ............................
Answer: A
In the third phase the aim is to achieve mastery over the technique.
Technique training is described in three phases (Hardayal Singh's scheme, based on Meinel):
- Acquiring rough coordination: the learner can perform the movement in its basic form.
- Acquiring fine coordination: the movement becomes precise and economical.
- Stabilising the technique: mastery, so it holds up under fatigue and competition stress.
Rough and fine coordination are the aims of the first and second phases. 'Skill conditioning' is not the name of a phase.
