Which of the following cannot be a perfect square?
Answer: B
100192 cannot be a perfect square.
The square of any whole number ends in 0, 1, 4, 5, 6 or 9; no perfect square ends in 2, 3, 7 or 8. Since 100192 ends in 2, it cannot be a perfect square, without any further calculation. This last-digit test is the quickest check in such questions; when it does not settle the matter, a digital-root check (squares have digit sums reducing to 1, 4, 7 or 9) is the next one to try.
The others are squares: \(245^{2} = 60025\), \(259^{2} = 67081\) and \(324^{2} = 104976\).
