The rate of literacy of Tripura as announced by the Chief Minister of Tripura on 1st January, 2014 is
Answer: C
The literacy rate announced was 94.65%.
After Census 2011 put Tripura's literacy at 87.75%, the state ran a literacy drive and had the result assessed by a survey under the Indian Statistical Institute. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar announced the new rate of 94.65% on International Literacy Day in September 2013, saying Tripura had overtaken Kerala as India's most literate state.
The other figures are traps: 87.75% is Tripura's Census 2011 rate, which the survey replaced, and 93.91% is Kerala's Census 2011 rate, the figure Tripura was compared with. 95.16% is not the announced figure.
