The first Hornbill festival in Tripura was inaugurated on 8th February, 2020.
Tripura held its first two-day Hornbill festival at the Baramura eco-park in West Tripura, inaugurated by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, to raise awareness of bird conservation and the state's biodiversity and to promote tourism.
The 2021 dates are a year too late, and 9 January in either year is not the date of the inauguration. The better-known Hornbill Festival of Nagaland is held in December.
