Which State government has recently amended the Mandi Act, to assist farmers in obtaining maximum value of their production ?
Answer: D
The state is Madhya Pradesh.
In May 2020 the Madhya Pradesh government amended its Mandi Act to allow private mandis and the purchase of produce directly from farmers outside the regulated markets, so that farmers could sell to whoever offered the best price.
Punjab, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were not the state referred to in this amendment.
It came in the same year as the Centre's ordinances allowing farmers to sell outside regulated APMC markets.
