The 'Friends of MP Conclave' of January 2018 was held in Indore.
The State Government organised it on 3 and 4 January 2018 for people of the diaspora with roots in Madhya Pradesh and others who wished to be connected with the state, with sessions on a development vision for 2022 and on the role of 'Friends of MP' in the state's growth. Notices published by Indian embassies abroad name Indore as the venue; one Hindi report gave 4 and 5 January for the dates, but the city is the same.
Bhopal is the state capital and Jabalpur and Gwalior are major cities, but the conclave was not held in any of them. Indore is the state's commercial centre, which is why it hosts investor and diaspora meets.
