Lamheta, on the banks of the Narmada near Bhedaghat in Jabalpur district, is famous for its rock formations, including the Lameta Formation where dinosaur fossils were found. A geo-park is being set up there for its geological heritage.
Bhopal, Indore and Gwalior are not on this stretch of the Narmada.
The Narmada flows through the marble gorge at Bhedaghat close by, and the whole area is valued for its geology and its fossils.
