Statement: Should India make efforts to harness solar energy to fulfil its energy requirements?
Arguments:
1. Yes, Most of the energy sources used at present is exhaustible.
2. No. Harnessing solar energy requires a lot of capital, which India lacks in.
Answer: A
Correct answer: Only argument I is strong
Argument I gives the decisive reason: coal and oil will run out, while sunlight will not, so a country must look to renewable sources. Argument II raises cost, but the initial outlay is an argument for planning rather than against the effort. Only I is strong.
