Statement: "I have not received telephone bills for nine months inspite of several complaints" - A telephone customer's letter to the editor of a daily
Assumptions:
1. Every customer has a right to get bills regularly from the telephone company.
2. The customer's complaints point to defect in the services which are expected to be corrected.
Answer: E
Correct answer: Both I and II are implicit
The complaint takes for granted both things: that a customer is entitled to regular bills - otherwise there would be no grievance - and that the complaints made were received by the company, else there would be nothing to reproach it with. Both are implicit.
