Statement: The government has decided to raise the retirement age of its employees from 58 to 60 years.
Assumptions: I. Employees are fit to work until the age of 60. II. There would otherwise be a shortage of experienced staff. III. No employee will oppose the decision.
Answer: D
Correct answer: Only I is implicit
The decision would be incoherent unless the government supposed employees capable of working to 60, so I is implicit.
II is a plausible motive but nothing in the statement assumes it, and III is not required at all - a government may act in the expectation of opposition.
