Who among the following propounded 'National Character' as one of the elements of Sea Power ?
Answer: D
National character as an element of sea power was propounded by Alfred T. Mahan.
Among the six conditions of sea power in The Influence of Sea Power upon History (1890), Mahan included the 'character of the people': a nation inclined to trade and commerce, ready to seek wealth by the sea, would produce seamen and shipping and so develop sea power, as Britain and the Netherlands had.
Clausewitz and Jomini wrote on land warfare, and W. (Billy) Mitchell on air power.
