What is the practical consequence of raising the intermediate frequency in a single conversion set?
Answer: D
The cost of the improvement is that a narrow, steep filter is much harder to build at a higher frequency, so adjacent channel selectivity suffers. The oscillator's ratio actually narrows slightly with a larger offset. Conversion loss does not scale that way. And the detector's time constant becomes easier rather than harder to satisfy. Naming the price alongside the benefit is what turns a fact about a parameter into a design judgement.
