The sampling rate, (how many samples per second are stored) for a CD is...?
Answer: C
A CD samples at 44.1 kHz.
By the Nyquist theorem a sampling rate must be more than twice the highest frequency to be recorded; human hearing reaches about 20 kHz, so 44.1 kHz captures it with a margin for the anti-aliasing filter.
