Which one of the following definitions describes the term "validity" ?
Answer: B
Validity is the honesty of the test.
Validity is the degree to which a test measures what it claims to measure. Physical education measurement texts describe it as the honesty or truthfulness of a test: a valid test of agility really measures agility and not, say, speed alone.
Consistency of results on repeated testing is reliability, not validity. Usefulness and practicality concern administrative feasibility, and a value representative of a particular population describes norms, not validity.
