(d) The extent of a persons formal education is a measure by which to determine his level of salary.
(e) Over the last few years, the average starting salaries of other professionals have increased by 20%.

Correct answer: a,e,c
Take the three together and see whether they can all be true at once. If other professionals’ starting salaries have risen 20 percent, and the gap between teachers’ and theirs has nevertheless shrunk, then teachers’ salaries must have risen faster still - which supports the conclusion that starting teachers are no longer underpaid. The other sets mix in the average age of first-year teachers or the claim about formal education, neither of which bears on salary levels, so nothing follows from them.
