Which lines run diagonally on a skew-T diagram?
Answer: D
On a skew-T log-p diagram the isotherms are skewed to run at about forty five degrees while the isobars remain straight and horizontal with a logarithmic spacing. Skewing the isotherms spreads a typical sounding across the diagram rather than compressing it into a narrow band, which is the whole purpose of the design. The dry adiabats curve gently to the left and the saturated adiabats curve more strongly, converging towards the dry adiabats at low temperature.
