Which of the following questions promotes critical and creative thinking in children ?
Answer: A
The question that promotes critical and creative thinking is Which can be the best way to save water and why ?
It has no single right answer. Children must generate several ways of saving water (creative thinking), compare them against criteria, choose one and justify the choice with reasons (critical thinking). The 'why' is what turns it into an evaluation task.
The other three are recall questions with fixed answers: where the city's water comes from, how many states and capitals the country has, and the country's name and location on the map. They test memory of facts, not the ability to judge or invent.
