The point at which the line \(\frac{x + 3}{11} = \frac{y - 2}{-1} = \frac{z + 1}{3}\) meets the \(zx\) -plane is
Answer: B
The line meets the zx-plane at (19,0,5).
The zx-plane is y = 0. Set each ratio equal to \(\lambda\) and put y = 0.
\[ \begin{aligned} \frac{0 - 2}{-1} &= 2 = \lambda \\ x &= -3 + 11(2) = 19 \\ z &= -1 + 3(2) = 5 \end{aligned} \]
(19, 2, 5) keeps y = 2, so it is not on the plane. (-3, 2, 0) and (0, 2, -1) mix up the coordinates of the base point (-3, 2, -1) and do not lie on the line.
