Leakage reactance of a transformer arises from
Answer: C
Correct answer: flux that links one winding but not the other
Not every line of flux produced by one winding passes through the other; a small proportion closes through air or through the tank. That leakage flux links only its own winding, so it behaves exactly like a series inductance, and it is what limits the short circuit current and produces most of the voltage regulation. Hysteresis and winding resistance are quite separate effects.
