Tropical cyclones occur on :
Answer: D
Tropical cyclones occur on the synoptic scale.
Meteorology groups weather systems by horizontal size. Synoptic-scale systems span roughly 1,000 km and last days, which is the size of a tropical cyclone and of the depressions shown on a weather map. Their structure includes mesoscale features, such as the eyewall and rainbands, but the cyclone itself is a synoptic system.
Micro-scale covers eddies and turbulence of metres. Mesoscale covers thunderstorms, sea breezes and tornadoes, from a few to a few hundred kilometres. Planetary scale is reserved for long waves and the general circulation of thousands of kilometres.
