Which of the following organs of the United Nations has lost its relevance in the contemporary times ?
Answer: C
The organ that has lost its relevance is the Trusteeship Council.
The Trusteeship Council was set up under Chapter XIII of the UN Charter to supervise the administration of trust territories and promote their progress towards self-government or independence. With the independence of Palau, the last trust territory, in 1994, the Council suspended its operations and now meets only as and when required.
The Economic and Social Council, the Secretariat and the General Assembly remain fully active organs of the United Nations.
