Covishield is a :
Answer: C
Covishield is a recombinant vector vaccine.
Covishield is the Serum Institute of India's version of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine (ChAdOx1 nCoV-19). It uses a replication-deficient chimpanzee adenovirus as a vector carrying the gene for the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which the recipient's cells then make, triggering immunity.
It is not a DNA vaccine, which injects plasmid DNA directly (India's ZyCoV-D is one). Nor is it an attenuated vaccine: it contains no weakened coronavirus, chemically or otherwise, and the adenovirus vector cannot replicate.
