Buttoning is a problem in Cauliflower.
Buttoning is the formation of small, premature curds, or buttons, on cauliflower plants that have not grown enough leaves. It happens when the plant's growth is checked: when early varieties are planted late, when old or overgrown seedlings are transplanted, or under nitrogen shortage or drought. The buttons have no market value.
Okra, chillies and melon do not form curds, so the disorder does not occur in them.
