A bridge always has
Answer: A
Correct answer: Two ends to connect
The question asks what is always present, not what usually is. A bridge carries a way across an obstacle, so it must have two ends to join - that is what distinguishes it from a pier or a platform. Pillars support some bridges; a suspension bridge hangs from cables and an arch bridge may spring from the banks themselves. A toll is a charge levied on some crossings and on very few. Steel is a modern material; bridges have been built of stone, timber, brick and rope for thousands of years.
